Gas work is hard enough. Paperwork shouldn’t be.

GasPad turns your phone into a certificate pad. Fill in the record on site, get it signed, and the landlord, the tenant and you each have the PDF before you’ve packed up the van.

Coming soon to iOS and Android. Your first three records are free.

How it works

From the boiler cupboard to their inbox.

The forms you already know, laid out for a phone and filled in as numbered steps. No carbon copies, and no evenings typing up.

  1. 9:41
GasPad’s New sheet, opened from the flame button: the six record types, from Landlord Gas Safety Record to No Access Record, then Book a Visit and New Invoice.

    Pick the job

Tap the flame, then choose the form and the address. Somewhere you’ve been before comes back with its landlord, tenant and appliances filled in.

  2. 9:41
An appliance on a gas safety record: a combi boiler in the kitchen, with the All Satisfactory button and large Yes, No and N/A answers for each check.

Fill it in, step by step

All Satisfactory fills in the usual answers for that flue type, and you change what’s different. Big answer buttons, number pads for readings, and nothing missed.

  3. 9:41
Review and Send: the next safety check date and why it was chosen, the engineer’s and tenant’s signatures, who it’s going to, and the Issue and Send button.

    Sign and send

The tenant signs on the screen. Tap Issue and Send and the PDF goes from your own email. No signal? It sends itself when there is.

Six forms

Every record you write in a working week.

Each one is an A4 PDF with your business details, logo and signature on it, numbered in its own series and filed by customer and address.

  • Landlord Gas Safety Record

The CP12, in A4 landscape and the layout landlords and agents know.

    LGSR-0042
  • Gas Warning Notice

Made for you from any At Risk or Immediately Dangerous defect you record.

    WN-0007
  • Service and Maintenance Record

The yearly service of a boiler or appliance, with readings and parts.

    SVC-0118
  • Breakdown Report

The call-out: the fault, the fix and the parts, with times on and off site.

    BRK-0093
  • Installation and Commissioning Record

A new boiler, covering the Benchmark checklist, and a reminder until it’s notified.

    INS-0012
  • No Access Record

Nobody in? A dated record with a photo of the door shows the landlord you attended.

    NA-0004

Gas safety records

A CP12 that’s right before it leaves your hands.

There’s no official CP12 form: the law says what a landlord’s record must contain. GasPad won’t issue one until all of it is there, and tells you exactly what’s missing.

  • The next due date keeps the anniversary when you check within two months of it, and says why it chose that date.
  • Answer No to Safe to Use and it asks for the defect, then writes the warning notice for you.
  • A tenant’s own appliance gets a visual check, printed as “Visual only”.
  • Every issued record is sealed, so any change made to the PDF afterwards shows up.
9:41
GasPad’s Home tab: Good morning, Sam, with three visits today, five records due soon and £1,240 owed, then the week’s calendar and today’s visits.

Home

The whole job in one place.

Your day at a glance: today’s visits, what’s due soon and what you’re owed. Book visits, get a nudge before records run out, and invoice from the same job.

  • A calendar of booked visits, with orange dots on the days records run out.
  • Due Soon lists every gas safety record and service about to run out. Swipe one to book it in.
  • A round-up on the 25th of each month, so next month’s work can be booked early.
  • Switch on automatic reminders and landlords get an email before their record runs out.
9:41
The Invoices tab: £1,240 owed, £180 overdue and £2,615 paid this month, above a list of unpaid invoices with one marked Overdue.

Invoices

Get paid for the job you just signed off.

Tap Done, and Invoice This Job after sending a record. Parts from a breakdown report come across as materials, already priced.

  • Labour and materials from your own price list, with VAT if you’re registered.
  • Sent as a PDF from your own email, then marked paid when the money’s in.
  • Export a file that Xero or QuickBooks imports, or a spreadsheet for your bookkeeper.
9:41
The Gas Rate calculator: metric meter readings over a two-minute test, giving 3.12 cubic metres an hour, 33.6 kilowatts gross and 30.3 net.

Tools

The sums and the manuals, a tap away.

Under the flame, or at the bottom of Home. A calculator button sits beside every gas rate and heat input box, and fills it in for you.

  • Gas rate calculator

Metric or imperial meters, natural gas or LPG, with a stopwatch that buzzes at the test time.

  • Pipe sizing

Natural gas in copper. Add each length and its fittings, and see whether the route keeps within 1 mbar.

  • Manuals and fault codes

Straight to each maker’s own website, opened inside the app.

Privacy and trust

Your customers’ details stay with you.

You hold names, addresses and phone numbers for hundreds of households. GasPad is built so that stays your business, not ours.

  • Kept on your phone

Customers, addresses, records and invoices are stored on your phone. No GasPad server holds them.

  • Sent from your own email

Records go out through your own email account, as if you’d sent them yourself. Nothing passes through us.

  • Sealed when issued

Each record’s PDF is signed by a key that never leaves your phone. Check any PDF to see whether it’s been changed.

  • App Lock

Face ID, your fingerprint or your passcode whenever GasPad opens, in case someone else picks up your phone.

  • No AI writing your records

Emails use fixed wording you can edit. GasPad writes no gas guidance of its own; it links to Gas Safe Register’s pages.

  • Yours to take away

Every PDF is saved on your phone, filed by customer and address. Back up everything as one zip whenever you like.

Common questions

Who is GasPad for?

Gas Safe registered engineers anywhere in the UK, in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, from sole traders to small firms, who want to swap the paper pad or an expensive subscription for something quicker. It was built alongside a working gas engineer, on real jobs.

Does it work without a signal?

Yes. You can fill in, sign and issue a record with no connection at all. The email waits on Home and sends itself as soon as there’s a signal, even if you’ve left the app.

Which email does it send from?

Your own. Enter your business email address and password once, and GasPad finds the server settings itself for the common UK hosts. The landlord, the tenant and you each get the PDF, with your logo and a summary in the email.

Can I put my logo and the Gas Safe logo on records?

Yes. Add your business details, logo and your own PDF colour once in Settings. GasPad doesn’t come with the Gas Safe Register logo, because only a registered business may use it, but you can add your own copy from your Gas Safe account and it’s printed beside your registration number.

How much does it cost?

Your first three records are free. Then start a free month, and after that it’s £9.99 a month or £99.99 a year when you subscribe on this website, or £11.99 a month or £119.99 a year in the app. Records you’ve already issued stay yours to open, share and export whatever you decide.

Why does it cost less to subscribe here?

Apple and Google take a share of every subscription bought inside an app. When you subscribe here, that doesn’t happen, so we pass the saving on to you. It’s the same GasPad either way: sign in to the app with the email you subscribed with and your plan is there.

Which devices will it work on?

GasPad is coming to iOS and Android, with the same forms and features on both. On iOS it runs on iPhone and iPad. The iOS and Android apps keep their records separately.

Is GasPad approved by Gas Safe Register?

No. GasPad is an independent app and isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by Gas Safe Register. Each form is based on the regulations and industry guidance, listed in the app, and you remain responsible for your work and what you record. See the Disclaimer.
